All Eyes on the Bride - Choose a Wedding Esemble that Best Fits You

The Bride is the most anticipated participant of a wedding. Everyone wants to see the bride. Think about it, she makes the grand entrance, the congregation stands when she enters, she has the dedicated song, she is showered with gifts at the wedding shower and rose petals when she walks down the aisle, she even gets a dedicated maid and matron. It’s no wonder why brides take such care, consideration and pride into selecting the wedding dress. This is the most important decision of the night because all eyes are on the bride. When selecting a wedding dress for the most important event of your life consider these important factors:

Consider hiring a fashion consultant to select what type of dress fits you best. Just like being tone deaf, some are fashion blind. Believe it or not, all women can’t wear any dress and no, if they make it in your size doesn’t mean you should even think about wearing it. A fashion consultant can tell you what will look best for you body type and shape. She can suggest sleeveless or straps, v-neck or straight cut, silk or other blends, etc.

Set a budget for your dress and stick to it. Do a bit of research online to get an idea of what types of dresses are in what price range to avoid sticker shock at the bridal salon. Don’t shop couture on a small budget. Once you get an idea of the pricing, look at dresses in your set price point only to avoid overspending on a much more elaborate gown.

Pick your shoes before your dress or a least have an idea of what heel size you will wear. This can be sometimes difficult as brides may be more accustomed of choosing the gown then the dress. Don’t forget, the shoes are the least important of the day. Most times, no one sees them anyway. Don’t get too hung up on the shoes.

Remember, the gown is your jewel. Try not to overdue it with excess jewelry that takes away from the gown. For jewelry, think small diamonds or crystals. The only piece of jewelry that should bling is the ring that seals the deal.
