Bridal Shower Gift Ideas

bridalbouquet4.jpg You’ve been invited to a bridal shower – what fun! You already have a wonderful wedding gift, but you aren’t sure about what gift to get for the shower. The first rule of thumb is that a bridal shower gift is generally a bit more personal; it should focus on the bride rather than the couple. So think in terms of her likes and dislikes as well as the theme of the party.

Many times you can get your best bridal shower gift ideas simply by carefully reading the invitation. Will they be “showering” her with gifts for her honeymoon trip? Then think about where she’s going and what she’s like.

If they’re skiing in Colorado, you have a head start. Think about a luxurious cashmere scarf, snuggly slippers, or perhaps a wonderful bottle of champagne and two crystal glasses for celebrating in front of the lodge’s fire in the evenings!

Is it a kitchen shower? Think about her favorite types of food and go from there. If she likes baking, a basket of the little necessities is nice – extracts and flavored oils, measuring spoons, muffin tins, and a pastry brush for example.

Anything personal is always nice, since in the coming weeks the bride will be rushing about like a crazy woman. Giving a gift of relaxation is a sure-fire hit. A pedicure and manicure gift certificate, a massage or day at the spa are all wonderful gestures.

Is the bride practical? Put together a great little “everything basket” to keep by her phone or on her desk that has all those things you can never find when you need them: A few nice pens, clear nail polish, postage stamps, a small bottle of her favorite perfume, a nail file, a change purse with a few bills and some change, a notepad, a small screwdriver, tape, and anything else you usually need at a moment’s notice and can’t find! Tuck in some decadent chocolates for emergency energy and you’re set!

Eco-Friendly Wedding Stationery

yhst-96972159295690_2064_39046864.gif After the engagement, it's time to let friends and family know about your big day. For many couples, one of the first orders of business when planning a wedding is to announce the engagement, typically by way of an engagement announcement and/or an engagement party. Ensuring that your announcements and invitations are made from postconsumer, or tree-free paper is a great way to kick off your eco-friendly wedding planning.

If you're putting on a summer wedding, destination wedding, weekend wedding, wedding with many traveling guests, wedding near a major holiday, or a wedding that includes guests with busy lifestyles, then you should consider sending out a Save the Date. This will allow your guests to schedule the wedding on their calendar long before they receive a more formal invitation. In the spirit of your eco-friendly wedding, of course, your Save the Date should be printed on recycled, or tree-less, paper products.

Perhaps your most important stationery decision, however, will involve the wedding invitations. A wedding invitation usually includes the actual invitation, the RSVP card with envelope, a reception card, a map or directions card and, in the case of some invitation styles, an outer envelope, all of which can implement the use of postconsumer (recycled) or tree-less papers.

Wedding stationery, of course, goes far beyond these basics. Bridal shower announcements/invitations, thank-you notes, guest books, rehearsal dinner invitations, reception and ceremony papers, ceremony and wedding programs, escort cards, place cards, seating cards, menu cards, paper wedding favors, and table cards are among the many eco-friendly and tree-less paper products than can be used to alleviate the usual waste. These days, eco-friendly stationery and wedding invitations are nearly as plentiful, and every bit as beautiful, as the more conventional alternatives. So as you plan your wedding and get ready to send out your Save the Dates, think about saving our earth as well!

Wedding Planning

checklist.jpg Wedding planning is surely no small task! There are so many factors involved and, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can quickly get overwhelmed. Start out your wedding planning with a wedding checklist and then triage the items into workable steps. Wedding planning doesn’t have to be a huge, unworkable process. As long as you have the right ideas and the drive, you can plan a fantastic wedding! Wedding planning should be started at least several months before the actual date.
Things can change, and you want to make sure that you can change with them – there’s nothing worse than having to switch things around at the last minute because you didn’t plan for a wedding mishap!

Wedding planning can actually be a lot of fun. Whether you’re planning it for yourself or helping out a friend, planning a wedding can be very rewarding. You just need to make sure to have a list of all the items and things you will need, then you can get to work. You really don’t need a fancy wedding planning guide or anything to tell you how to start. Some people start right away with the dress, others with the location, and some start with the date. These are three major things to take into consideration when starting to plan. When planning for a wedding, you need to think about weather as a factor - if you start out with an outside wedding, then always have a backup plan! Next on your wedding planning check list should be save the dates, invitations, and then you can start on things like colors, schemes, décor, and wedding favors.

Wedding planning can be fun - even more so if you are an organized person that can orchestrate things well. If you happen to be lacking in that department, you should consider hiring a professional wedding planner. They have lots of experience in planning weddings, and may be your best option. However you feel comfortable with planning your wedding – go for it! And…congratulations on your engagement; best of luck!

First Impressions...

yhst-96972159295690_2064_60493475.gif Every bride knows her guests’ first impressions of her wedding come from the invitations. Invitations not only set the tone for the event but also convey the couple’s personalities. While searching through hundreds of invitation styles, brides may find themselves overwhelmed by all the choices, not to mention the etiquette that should be followed. Often, your best bet in ordering invitations comes from visiting your local stationery expert. Stationery experts will listen to your thoughts and plans and help you pull all the pieces together so your guests will receive the perfect invitation to the event you’ll spend so much time planning.

Make sure you bring all the necessary information, which includes the name and address of the ceremony site, reception site, and any artwork you need for a map.

You should know about how many invitations to order and remember when counting this number to only count the number of invitations, not the number of guests!

Make your stop all inclusive; your stationery store may provide a lot more than invitations. Look over your "to do" list, as you may be able to cross off many of these items. An important thing is of course to have fun! This is the most important step. Getting stressed, anxious, or frustrated will only hurt you and slow things down. So plan on making an event out of it - bring along your mom, maid of honor, or maybe even your fiancée. Your wedding is a time of joy and should not be rushed or stressful.

Whichever style of wedding invitations you choose, be sure to let your local invitation expert assist you with every step of the process. After all, your wedding is the most important event, so don't just flip through impersonal catalogs and try to do too much on your own, especially when there is a wonderful person in your town waiting to offer you years of experience!

Wedding Rings for a Happy Couple

yhst-96972159295690_2064_21861040.gif The wedding rings are probably one of the most important items involved in a wedding. The ring is something that bonds the bride and groom at the wedding and makes their love final. Your wedding ring should be something that represents an everlasting love and commitment to each other.

Traditional wedding rings are usually gold bands that the bride and groom both wear. Today there are many styles and varieties of wedding rings to choose from. Make sure before you look at rings that you have a budget set. Traditionally, wedding rings should not cost less than one month’s salary. You want to make sure that the ring will work with each person’s lifestyle. This ring is a precious piece of jewelry you will own and you want it to symbolize your love to the other person.

The most common metal used for wedding rings is gold. Other popular metal’s include, silver, white gold, titanium, and platinum. Remember when you are out looking at wedding rings, you may want to keep it simple as you don’t want your wedding ring to take the limelight away from your engagement ring - you want the wedding ring to compliment the engagement ring. There are a few jewelers who can find a ring that will match your engagement ring. Usually, the wedding bands will match the engagement ring, so finding the perfect rings might take some time.

On the day of your wedding, you want your rings to represent the commitment you are making to the other person, in the best way possible. Take time looking at wedding rings and make sure you are one hundred percent happy with your choice. Also, make sure that you keep your rings in a safe place that you will remember, especially on the day of your wedding. You don’t want to be stressed out about your wedding rings among other things on the day you get married!

Stylish Wedding Flowers forthe Budget Conscious Bride

wedding-flowers.jpgWhen it comes to your wedding flowers - money and style don't always go hand in hand. In fact, with floral arrangements taking a turn towards modern minimalism, it's now easier than ever to create a dazzling décor scheme on a modest budget. So just how can you cut your floral costs without cutting corners? Take advantage of some clever ideas, and design a floral motif for your wedding that is simultaneously stylish and budget friendly.

With fewer attendants, your florist will won't have to create as many bouquets - resulting in instant savings that will in no way put a damper on your floral style.

Fewer seats at your wedding ceremony means less aisles to decorate;fewer tables at your wedding reception means less floral centerpieces to adorn them. You get the idea...You'll have gorgeous arrangements - just less of them. In season wedding flowers are often less expensive and easier to find. So go with the season and have flowers that are common for the season of your wedding.

Certain flowers will run up of the cost of your floral budget no matter what season it is. Ask your florist to review your options with you. One way to make sure that your less expensive flowers look anything but - group a bunch of the same bloom together for a stunning visual effect. Tightly packed daisies can be eye catching. Consider alternative arrangements - scattered flower petals surrounded by votive candles create an elegant effect without breaking the bank. Or have arrangements featuring grasses, fruits or vegetables – these hot trends are quickly growing in popularity and fashion.

Choose a naturally beautiful location; expensive decor is hardly necessary when Mother Nature does the work for you! A springtime wedding in a garden hardly needs additional floral arrangements, while an ornate church may be breathtaking on its own. Also consider that many facilities are decorated for the holidays, so holding a December wedding may provide you with gorgeous poinsettias and garland free of cost.

Decorations and Decisions!

wedding%2520favors%2520decorations%2520butterfly%2520love%2520candles1.jpg Planning a wedding is not a simple or easy thing to do. There are a lot of stressful tasks you may encounter along the journey, as well as some decisions that can drive you totally mad. The very first thing you need to consider when it comes to decorating is to decide what the perfect wedding colors are for you and your big day. So, here are some tips on choosing colors for your wedding decorations.

Choose a theme that is important. This should be decided first if it is a color theme. Basically, a chosen color will be used throughout the wedding, from the wedding flowers, dresses, wedding decorations to wedding centerpieces and wedding favors.

One great way to choose the best wedding colors is to find bridesmaids dresses first. Take your bridesmaids with you and look for a dress everyone is comfortable with. Once the dresses have been selected, know what colors are included and then pick one or two of these colors.

Consider your favorite colors. For sure you have your own favorite colors, so why not use them for your wedding? Or you may want to go with the colors of the season. One easy way to come up with wedding colors is to think of the season. If it's a spring wedding, the pastel colors are a perfect choice. Deeper colors are best for a fall wedding. Vibrant and bright colors, on the other hand, are great if it is a summer wedding.

You can use your wedding colors to represent or reflect a symbol or something symbolic. A color can also set a mood. Choose colors that express a happy and romantic feeling since it is for your wedding. For example, red means romance but it can also show and project a feeling full of energy. Lastly, purchase wedding supplies such as wedding decorations, wedding invitations, and wedding favors accordingly - in various shades of color that match your theme of course!

headoverheelsstoppers_sm.jpg When planning your wedding, you need to give attention even to the smallest details, such as what decorations you’ll use to decorate and adorn your wedding favors. Decorating your wedding favors to match the season or theme of your wedding can add a touch of elegance that your guests will remember for years.

There are many wedding favor decorations you can use for your wedding favors. Wedding favor decorations that are gaining popularity today are transparent stickers made from real pressed flowers.

These wedding favor decorations are great if you want to put a personal stamp on your favor holders such as clear-top favor tins, transparent plastic boxes, and clear bottles.

Ribbons are perennial wedding favor decorations. Personalized ribbons, which feature the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date, can be used to accent wedding favors. Many online stores specializing in wedding favors and accessories offer hundreds of feet of personalized ribbons at an affordable price.

For a festive touch, use a pair of gold or silver tie-on wedding bells on your wedding favors. Using a ribbon, tie the bells around bottles and jars or attach them to favor boxes and you’ve got the perfect wedding favor decoration to ring in your marriage.

Make your wedding favors extra special by adding adorable heart-shaped charms. These wedding favor decorations will make any wedding favor a cherished keepsake. Each heart-shaped charm usually has an easy-to-thread loop so you can easily attach it to your wedding favors. Wedding favor decorations add beauty to wedding favors and to the wedding as a whole. Good Ole' American Weddings

AAAAC_Se0lsAAAAAAFkfwg.jpg Part of living in the United States is that you are free to live, love, and form traditions. In America, weddings are mixed with something from every culture and typically include a unique American touch.

Beginning with the engagement, everything is exclusive with the American feel. In the United States there isn’t a set way to propose to someone, in fact the more crazy it is the better!

After the engagement, the couple then usually heads to visit their parents so they can inform them of the good news, and begin planning their American wedding. There will surely be wedding favors, flowers, and fabulous food!

In an American wedding, it is not uncommon for the bridesmaids to throw a bridal shower for the soon bride-to-be. Also, the groom is sometimes given a bachelor party the night right before the wedding. American wedding invitations usually include response cards inside them. This is so the couple will be quickly informed how many people are and are not coming to their wedding. There is often a rehearsal dinner. The wedding guests and party travel from all over to make it to the ceremony and a rehearsal dinner is something nice for the bride and groom to do for their guests.

Bridal luncheons are also common in an American wedding. The bridesmaids usually host this for the bride on the day of the wedding. This only happens if time allows, depending on when the wedding is scheduled to begin. Some couples take the effort to make sure the bride isn’t seen in her wedding attire by the groom, before the wedding day.

It is still very common in America that only the bride and her father walk down the aisle. The groom and groomsmen usually enter the church through one of the side doors. Gifts are also given at every American wedding. The wedding gifts are given based on what the couple would like to have, not what is thought should be given. Many couples prefer to register gifts so they can receive exactly what they want. You can still hear the wedding vow, “For better or worse, ‘til death do us part” in every American wedding. It does not matter if the wedding is unique or not, you can be sure to hear that vow spoken.

Wedding Shower Ideas for Second Marriages

picturerct-rlmba1.png There is a large percentage of weddings these days that involve at least one person who is getting married for the second time. Wedding shower ideas for a bride who is getting married again can be somewhat difficult since she probably already has all the kitchen stuff she needs and may already have a home of her own. So if you’re looking for shower ideas for a dear friend who’s in love with the right man this time, you’ll need to think beyond the traditional!

Consider a couples or coed shower for the bride and groom together.

This is becoming more popular and is a great way to get gifts that are personal yet geared to both of them! A gift certificate for both of them to get a massage or movie and dinner gift certificates will make a special day for the happy couple.

If the bride enjoys wine and liquors, you could have a “stock the bar” shower and make sure their new home is stocked with fine wines and accessories for upscale imbibing. Wine glass charms, a bottle of rare champagne, a book on wines, a fine bottle of cognac, elegant coasters, or an elegant wine rack are great gifts that can pull the bar area together beautifully.

Wedding showers that focus just on her can consist of a shower that focuses on her own personal interests,. Is she into fitness? Try a “health nut” shower and have each guest bring a gift that will enhance her workout routine. A new jogging suit, pedometer, yoga mat or anything else that she would be hesitant to splurge on but would love to have. Add some wedding shower favors to reflect the theme for a personal and special touch.

Putting a little thought into how the bride’s life will change in new and unique ways as a second-time bride will help you come up with many exciting wedding shower ideas!

Wedding Favor Boxes: Tips for Showing Favor to Your Wedding Guests

yhst-96972159295690_2064_68003664.gif A wedding is a special occasion to be enjoyed by all the guests. As a token of appreciation for your guests and their willingness to share in your momentous occasion, wedding favor boxes can be an inexpensive yet personal way to express your gratitude. Consider some points when selecting your wedding favor boxes.

The possibilities are endless when choosing favor boxes for your guests. Although not an extremely pressing issue, there are some material considerations when making your final selection.

Whether cardboard or cardstock, boxes constructed of paper products can be both charming and challenging. Know ahead of time how you will transport your favors to avoid crushing them, or exposing them to the elements, before their distribution. Although less “green” than paper, plastic is more durable and may be a better choice as a favor when including edible contents such as chocolates or other candies.

Naturally, color is a concern when deciding upon wedding decorations. Wedding favor boxes are available in a large variety of styles. Therefore, choices may be made that either coordinate with the colors of the ceremony or you may prefer to use the favors to make a special statement to your guests.

One of the most difficult decisions when selecting wedding favor boxes is the design. Although some may prefer favors that follow a theme, others may wish to take a different approach to choosing the perfect favor. To show your guests how much you appreciate their presence on your special day, personalize your wedding favor boxes by monogramming tags with names or initials. Your family and friends will value the care and attention you spent on them.

The contents of your favor are part 2 of the wedding favor duo. Your choice in contents can be as simple or as extravagant as your budget dictates. Wedding favor boxes are an opportunity to show your guests that they are an important part of your lives. If you are planning to include these special wedding decorations in the celebration of your special day, keep in mind not only your budget and your ceremony’s theme but also your guests. After all, it is your guests whom you value as the most important part of the occasion.

Have Fun at Your Wedding Shower with Games

bridal-shower-bingo-set.jpg Every bride-to-be looks forward to having her wedding shower. Traditionally, a close friend of the bride (usually the maid of honor or a relative) is in charge of planning and hosting the shower. It is a great opportunity for girls to be girls and have a ton of fun.

The theme of the shower is based on what the bride is interested in. The theme is used as a guide for gifts, decorations, shower favors, etc. Wedding shower themes include kitchen wear, lingerie, princess, or even a tea party. It’s all up to what the bride likes and to your imagination.

Every wedding shower should have something that breaks the ice and lets everyone get to know each other, and this is where games come in handy!

There are many wedding shower games that can be played to get everyone comfortable with each other. The games will vary, depending on the theme of the party. Some common shower games are bingo, making a toilet paper wedding dress, clothespin game, scavenger purse hunt, and making cute arts and crafts.

In order to play bingo, you are first of all going to need a few bingo boards. You can decide to create your own boards or just buy them. You are also going to need a few markers and a few prize items to give away. First, pass around the boards to each guest and ask them to fill each of the blanks with a gift that they believe the bride will be receiving. When the bride begins to open her gifts, ask the guest to mark off each item that is right. Once someone has five gifts in a row, she wins!

For the clothespin game, you are going to need a few clothespins. Give everyone their own clothespin when they arrive at the wedding shower. Make sure they pin it somewhere that is visible on their clothes. Once that is done, decide on a keyword and make an announcement about the rules that apply to the keyword. The rules can be “no one is allowed to cross her legs” or “you are not allowed to say “blank” whatever the specific keyword may be. If a person catches a guest breaking “the rules”, she is allowed to take her clothespin. The goal is to end up with the most clothespins by the end of the wedding shower.

Elite and Designer Wedding Gowns

Wedding-Dress-M58.jpg Many brides want their wedding dress to be gorgeous and unique, and to make a statement. Brides that don’t have a strict budget, or no budget at all, can afford to buy designer wedding gowns. Many also get the designers to make their wedding dresses from custom made from scratch. For brides that have an unrestricted budget, shopping for designer wedding gowns is a special event. The designer that the bride decides to wear portrays her taste in fashion.

Getting a wedding gown that is made by an upscale designer is very costly and many brides pay for gowns that are almost more than their entire wedding.

Make sure that you know what kind of price range is expected before you decide on wearing an elite gown. Once you know your budget, finding the right designer becomes simple.

All designer wedding gowns should be ordered several months before the wedding. Many brides make the mistake of choosing a designer gown at the last moment in a hurry and aren’t happy with it. Choosing the designer you want, the style of gown, and your budget ahead of time, will save you from any headaches. You can also look at a bridal magazine to help you make a choice on a style and pattern you’d like. You might also find a specific designer you like that fits your taste.

The bride should definitely take a few friends and family members with her when going shopping for her gown. Having a second person’s opinion makes a huge difference on the final decision of the gown and pattern. Knowing that your friends and family want you to look great, you don’t have to worry about getting any false reviews on the dresses you try on. Brides often need help in choosing which accessories and shoes to wear with the gown, so having people there you trust can make it easier. Go to several places that have designer wedding gowns before making the final decision!

A Man's Wedding Band

RACANJV00KCAIXV1MYCAGQJQVECADWTW3HCA2I79KHCAOBEOJ4CA1ZCKDZCA1KZJ3ICACES30DCAL5SANBCA3J38J9CAP2QB0VCALGICMMCA6544XUCAU5IS3NCAHZ4XQVCAXMQMWDCAI2GA21CAK71RJ2.jpg When shopping for a wedding band, a man’s wedding band doesn’t have to be very different from a woman’s band. A lot of couples like to design their own bands or select a style that compliments them. Gold wedding bands are not the only ones around today; there are new metals that are used such as Tungsten and Platinum, that are growing in popularity among new couples.

A man’s wedding band doesn’t have to be boring - it can be unique and still fit his taste. Shopping for the right wedding band is an exciting experience that will only happen once. Looking at wedding bands is a fantastic way to lay down the mood for all the days ahead. A man’s wedding band requires the consideration of many things, such as the size, quality, and weight of the band. Also, consider the color, cut, and all the other options that are available, such as diamonds and engravings. Weight is probably the most important factor out of all of these, and since the band is going to be worn every day - comfort is crucial.

Most men look at the weight of the ring when shopping for wedding bands. They want to be able to wear the ring to work and have it still look the way it did when it was bought in the store. Gold can become thinner and is very prone to scratches, which is why gold bands aren’t great for men that do hardcore work for a living. Titanium rings are very durable and will not weigh his hand down.

Style is also of importance for a man’s wedding band. He can decide between a classic simple style or one with designs. There are rings that have two tones, including titanium with a gold inlay inside it. Diamonds are also fashionable, especially ones that have a hammered or brushed finish. Whatever the choice, you can find a man’s wedding band at every price and preference!
