Good Ole' American Weddings

AAAAC_Se0lsAAAAAAFkfwg.jpg Part of living in the United States is that you are free to live, love, and form traditions. In America, weddings are mixed with something from every culture and typically include a unique American touch.

Beginning with the engagement, everything is exclusive with the American feel. In the United States there isn’t a set way to propose to someone, in fact the more crazy it is the better!

After the engagement, the couple then usually heads to visit their parents so they can inform them of the good news, and begin planning their American wedding. There will surely be wedding favors, flowers, and fabulous food!

In an American wedding, it is not uncommon for the bridesmaids to throw a bridal shower for the soon bride-to-be. Also, the groom is sometimes given a bachelor party the night right before the wedding. American wedding invitations usually include response cards inside them. This is so the couple will be quickly informed how many people are and are not coming to their wedding. There is often a rehearsal dinner. The wedding guests and party travel from all over to make it to the ceremony and a rehearsal dinner is something nice for the bride and groom to do for their guests.

Bridal luncheons are also common in an American wedding. The bridesmaids usually host this for the bride on the day of the wedding. This only happens if time allows, depending on when the wedding is scheduled to begin. Some couples take the effort to make sure the bride isn’t seen in her wedding attire by the groom, before the wedding day.

It is still very common in America that only the bride and her father walk down the aisle. The groom and groomsmen usually enter the church through one of the side doors. Gifts are also given at every American wedding. The wedding gifts are given based on what the couple would like to have, not what is thought should be given. Many couples prefer to register gifts so they can receive exactly what they want. You can still hear the wedding vow, “For better or worse, ‘til death do us part” in every American wedding. It does not matter if the wedding is unique or not, you can be sure to hear that vow spoken.
