Have Fun at Your Wedding Shower with Games

bridal-shower-bingo-set.jpg Every bride-to-be looks forward to having her wedding shower. Traditionally, a close friend of the bride (usually the maid of honor or a relative) is in charge of planning and hosting the shower. It is a great opportunity for girls to be girls and have a ton of fun.

The theme of the shower is based on what the bride is interested in. The theme is used as a guide for gifts, decorations, shower favors, etc. Wedding shower themes include kitchen wear, lingerie, princess, or even a tea party. It’s all up to what the bride likes and to your imagination.

Every wedding shower should have something that breaks the ice and lets everyone get to know each other, and this is where games come in handy!

There are many wedding shower games that can be played to get everyone comfortable with each other. The games will vary, depending on the theme of the party. Some common shower games are bingo, making a toilet paper wedding dress, clothespin game, scavenger purse hunt, and making cute arts and crafts.

In order to play bingo, you are first of all going to need a few bingo boards. You can decide to create your own boards or just buy them. You are also going to need a few markers and a few prize items to give away. First, pass around the boards to each guest and ask them to fill each of the blanks with a gift that they believe the bride will be receiving. When the bride begins to open her gifts, ask the guest to mark off each item that is right. Once someone has five gifts in a row, she wins!

For the clothespin game, you are going to need a few clothespins. Give everyone their own clothespin when they arrive at the wedding shower. Make sure they pin it somewhere that is visible on their clothes. Once that is done, decide on a keyword and make an announcement about the rules that apply to the keyword. The rules can be “no one is allowed to cross her legs” or “you are not allowed to say “blank” whatever the specific keyword may be. If a person catches a guest breaking “the rules”, she is allowed to take her clothespin. The goal is to end up with the most clothespins by the end of the wedding shower.
