| You (of course) hope that your wedding day will go off without a hitch. You hope that nobody will be hurt and that there will be no disasters. But just in case something does go awry - or, in your bridal nervousness, you think something is off from the norm - it can be easy to thwart a big catastrophe by packing a small emergency bag.
Give this bag to a reliable bridesmaid or to your designated wedding day assistant. Whether it's a helpful cousin or your brother's girlfriend, it just needs to be someone responsible. |
There are some essentials you’ll need, such as band-aids (blood on a white wedding dress doesn't work very well), some Aspirin or other pain medication, a bottle of water, floss (to make sure your pearly whites stay that way!), and clear nail polish (to keep stockings from running).
Also, some hair pins and elastics, safety pins (because there's always a need for these when there's formal wear involved), tweezers, tissues (whether it's your mom or even you, someone is going to start tearing up at some point). And even some straws (so that you can keep hydrated without smudging your lipstick). Some other things to include are a mini sewing kit, hem tape (in case no one is good at sewing), spot remover and a tooth brush. And what about some breath mints (for your bride and groom kiss), hair spray (for your hair or stocking runs), and food (you surely don’t want to pass out from not eating).
And don’t forget some matching make-up (for touch ups), extra cash, superglue (things tend to break at the worst moment). And of course a black book of phone numbers. You never know when you need to contact a supplier or an usher at the last moment. Some of these things may seem odd, but you never know what you’re gonna get on your wedding day - so come prepared!
