Wedding Catering Tips and Advice

san-diego-catering_and_event_design_6.jpg Wedding catering has always been one of the most important aspects of planning a wedding. Besides choosing the food dishes for the menu, you also need to think of other factor. For example, there could be guests with allergies to certain types of food, delays in the food arrival, and of course the nervousness if everything will taste great. For these reasons (and others as well), it is very important that you take the time to review the details of providing great cuisine through a responsible and reliable wedding caterer.

You will ideally find someone who has experience in catering wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, themed weddings and bridal showers.

It is a good idea to meet the potential caterers in person and ask questions. Many local wedding florists, planners and coordinators know the industry well. Ask them about recommended caterers. If you contact a caterer, ask to meet with him or her in person. You will want them to provide references in terms of their abilities and experience. Ask each caterer what is the largest number of guests that they can handle and when their last wedding catering took place. Check to see if a caterer is included in your wedding package. With so many things to deal with, from wedding favors to wedding gown designs, this may be something that can be easily overlooked.

Ask about food tasting; many caterers will allow a tasting in advance of the wedding so that you can choose cuisine that meets your needs. Some charge a fee for this, while others don’t allow it at all. When it comes to food, it is always worth it to pay extra, so that you can better ensure that the food on your big day taste good! Of course, use your own discretion, and if possible, ask about bringing others to the tasting.

In the end, your choice of wedding cuisine should match you and your fiancé’s personal taste, preference, and style. By planning your wedding catering thoroughly and wisely months in advance, one of the most important and crucial aspects of your wedding will be thoroughly enjoyed by all. Bon appetite!
