| Many eager young future brides and grooms have discovered to their deep dismay that getting married is a full time job. There are so many details to take care of – ranging from the difficult, like searching for and finding and buying and tailoring that gorgeous wedding gown the bride to be has been picturing since she was a little girl, to the easy, like renting a limo.
There are so many items that need to be bought. Some are very expensive – like a honeymoon vacation package to some exotic location– and some relatively cheap – like the wedding favors. |
The smart bride and groom might want to go to the expense of hiring a wedding planner.
However, with careful planning and focused organizing, the young couple – and/or their mothers - since it goes without saying that the moms’ would to be involved every step of the way to the altar – can pull off the wedding preparations/headaches themselves.
They should perhaps get the minor decisions out of the way. For example, they should quickly decide on the wedding favors they want to give out. Once they know what they would like to leave as a memento for their wedding, they should call a two or three specialty stores, compare the price and choose one.
Once the “small things” are taken care of, the bride and groom can focus on the “bigger” and usually more time-consuming ones – like picking out a wedding gown and all related clothing, like bridesmaids dresses, lingerie and honeymoon outfits.
Of course the young couple has the option of not bothering at all – and eloping. Eloping frees up a tremendous amount of time and money. A copy of their marriage certificate – attached to a copy of their plane tickets to a more expensive honeymoon getaway (which they can now splurge on) might be just the perfect plan!
